I am an Army veteran, substitute teacher, and author. More importantly, I am the mother of a child who has dyslexia, which is the reason Bright Minds Learning Center was created. Early on when my child was struggling with reading, spelling, and writing, I had no idea how to help. I just knew that something was wrong and that something had to be done to get them on track...and quickly. So, I prayed, did my homework, did lots of research and studying, and became a Certified Dyslexia Specialist. I did so, not only, to help my child but to help other struggling students (and parents), as well. I worked closely with the teachers in developing a workable 504 Plan and I’m proud to say that it paid off. My child has since graduated high school and is now employed and going to college.
